Fashion: AR creates a whole new product feeling

Some examples from our customer HELD show how fashion will become sensitive online in the future.

Buying clothing online has proven to be viable again, especially during the pandemic. But, there are still hooks, eyes and snags. This starts with size and fit, continues with the question of the actual color and does not end with the often unreal reproduction of material, material structure and detailed surface appearance.

All of that is about to change at great speed.

In the first step, the digital product twins are already able to convey a completely different product feeling – in Augmented Reality. On this page we have put together some products from our customer HELD for you so that you can explore them for yourself.

Product advertising is also possible in this new dimension. Here is an example of how HELD used a digital product twin in the magazine Motorrad.

But all this is just the beginning. In the future, customers will be able to look at themselves with digital clothing that fits perfectly. If you take a closer look at the attention to detail and perfection of the HELD products, you can imagine how this will change shopping – and especially online shopping, where trying on products has not been possible up to now.

As Daniel Beauchamp, principal engineer of VR/AR at Shopify, predicts: »Within the next five years, we’re probably going to get to the holy grail: really high-fidelity AR try-on clothing«.

But even after that, there are no limits to all of this. Take a look at the current developments in Metaverse & Co. – here you will find the digital equivalents for countless real products; with NFTs, blockchain and a lot of other hot stuff.

And don’t forget: with our patented technologies you get the optimal digital twins for each of these applications and countless others – unrivaled worldwide.

For your products too?

Which devices are supported?

You don’t need an app anymore to view AR models. By now the technology has been deeply integrated into the mobile operating systems iOS and Android as both Google and Apple see the enormous potential.

As the result more than two billion smartphones have this capability at present (May 2021). And on your side you don’t have to do more than add a normal link to your online shop or website; no initial investment, no software development.

iOS/Apple

AR requires an iOS or iPadOS device with iOS 11 (or later) and an A9 processor or later; in detail:
